How to cancel Three UK

To cancel Three UK mobile, text PAC and your date of birth (DDMMYY) to 65075 — or STAC to 75075 — use My3 under Manage your plan > Leave Three, or call 0333 338 1082. Cancelling without switching — and home or mobile broadband — takes 30 days' notice, or let your new broadband provider run the switch. In-contract exits owe the remaining monthly charges.

Contract / fees
Check your contract end date before anything else — Three says an early termination fee may apply if you're still inside your term, and its home broadband page states the fee is "equivalent to the monthly charges remaining during your minimum contract term". The reply to a PAC or STAC text includes any early termination charges, so the text route doubles as a written quote. The 30 days' notice applies to home broadband, mobile broadband, and a plain mobile cancellation without switching — for the last of those, Three says to call 0333 338 1082, and warns that at the end of the notice it cancels the number and you lose it forever. A phone bought on Three Your Way sits on its own device plan: cancel the airtime and Three says you continue paying the device off until the balance is cleared, which you can settle at any time by bank transfer. One quirk Three documents: after requesting a STAC, you can't upgrade online for 30 days. And if the reason you're leaving is a price rise your contract didn't specify in pounds and pence, UK rules can give you a 30-day penalty-free exit — see /guides/ofcom-broadband-mobile-contract-cancellation.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

If you're leaving Three mobile for another network

  1. 1

Text PAC plus your date of birth in DDMMYY format — for example PAC060385 — to 65075 to keep your number, or STAC plus date of birth to 75075 to drop it.

  2. 2

Read the reply: Three includes the code and, if you're still in contract, the early termination charges that would apply.

  3. 3

Or sign in to My3 and go to Manage your plan > Leave Three > Get a PAC or STAC code for the same details on screen.

  4. 4

Give the code to your new provider within 30 days — they transfer the service and close your Three account.

  5. 5

Wait for the final bill, which Three sends once you've switched.

  • The text shortcuts only work with a single number on the account — Three says two or more numbers means contacting them by phone or chat instead.
  • Three documents that after requesting a STAC you won't be able to upgrade online for 30 days.

If you'd rather arrange it with an agent, or have multiple numbers

  1. 1

Call Three on 0333 338 1082, or use Live Chat from the support pages.

  2. 2

Ask for a PAC or STAC, or for a cancellation — the agent will guide you through the process.

  3. 3

Cancelling without moving to another network? Three documents this as a call to 0333 338 1082 with 30 days' notice — at the end of it your number is cancelled and billing stops, and Three warns the number is lost forever.

  4. 4

If you're in contract, ask for the early termination fee figure before agreeing to anything.

  5. 5

Note the date and keep any reference number; the final bill follows once the switch or cancellation completes.

  • Accounts with two or more numbers can't use the 65075/75075 text route at all, so this is the required path for them.

If you're cancelling Three home broadband

  1. 1

Moving to another broadband provider? Three says to contact your new provider — "they'll take care of the rest, including cancelling your current broadband account."

  2. 2

Cancelling outright instead: contact Three to give 30 days' notice.

  3. 3

If you're inside your minimum term, expect the documented early termination fee — equivalent to the monthly charges remaining during the term.

  4. 4

Send back the hub if you have 5G Home Broadband: Three says the 5G hub is its property and a non-return fee applies if you keep it. 4G hubs and eero devices don't need to go back.

  5. 5

Watch for the final bill, which Three says arrives within 38 days of the account closing.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

The PAC text to 65075 isn't working for me.

Check the format — Three wants PAC plus your date of birth in DDMMYY form, like PAC060385, not just the word PAC. And the text route only works for accounts with a single number; two or more numbers means calling 0333 338 1082 or using Live Chat.

I cancelled Three broadband and a bill still turned up.

That's consistent with Three's documented timeline — the final bill arrives within 38 days of the account closing and includes any early termination fee and the 30-day notice period's charges. Check it against your cancellation date before assuming it's an error.

I asked for a STAC and now can't upgrade online.

That's a documented consequence: requesting a STAC blocks online upgrades for 30 days. If you've decided to stay, you'll need to go through Three's phone or chat channels rather than the website until the window passes.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • With a PAC, your number and service move when the new provider processes the code, and Three closes the account at the same time.
  • With a STAC, the service closes without the number moving — and online upgrades are blocked for 30 days after the request.
  • Broadband accounts close at the end of the 30-day notice or on the switch date; the final bill follows within 38 days.
  • Keep proof of posting for a returned 5G hub until the account shows settled — the non-return fee is documented.

Refund notes

  • Three's leaving pages document final-bill mechanics rather than refunds: the last bill arrives once you've switched (within 38 days of closure for broadband) and includes any early termination fee. No mid-cycle refund of unused service is documented for mobile plans. Home broadband is the exception: Three documents a 30-day money-back guarantee on both 4G and 5G Home Broadband — contact Three within 30 days of taking it out.

FAQ

How do I get a PAC code from Three?

Text PAC and your date of birth in DDMMYY format — for example PAC060385 — to 65075 from your Three phone. The reply includes your PAC and, if you're still in contract, the early termination charges. You can also get one in My3 under Manage your plan > Leave Three, or by calling 0333 338 1082. It's valid for 30 days.

Can I cancel my Three contract online?

Mobile, effectively yes — requesting a PAC or STAC through My3 (Manage your plan > Leave Three > Get a PAC or STAC code) or by text ends the contract once your new provider uses the code. A cancellation without switching, and home or mobile broadband cancellations with their 30 days' notice, go through Three's phone line 0333 338 1082 or Live Chat.

What's Three's early termination fee if I leave early?

Three documents it as equivalent to the monthly charges remaining during your minimum contract term. The practical move is to text PAC (or STAC) with your date of birth to 65075/75075 — Three's reply states the charges for your specific plan — or text INFO and your date of birth to 85075 to check your balance.

Do I have to return my Three broadband hub when I cancel?

The 5G Home Broadband hub, yes — Three states it remains Three's property and charges a non-return fee if you don't send it back. 4G hubs and eero devices are documented exceptions that don't need returning.

How much notice does Three broadband need?

30 days, for both home broadband and mobile broadband. If you're switching to another provider rather than going without, Three says you can skip giving notice yourself — contact the new provider and they handle the switch, including cancelling your Three account. The final bill arrives within 38 days of closure.
