Contract / fees
Adobe's default Annual, paid monthly plan commits you to 12 months; Adobe's subscription-terms page states that after 14 days a cancellation fee (early termination fee) of 50% of the remaining balance of the contract applies — cancel in the ninth month, for example, and you pay 50% of the three remaining months. Annual prepaid plans are non-refundable if cancelled before the year ends. Month-to-month plans have no early-termination fee. Adobe publishes worked fee examples for common plans and notes your own fee may differ, so check the cancellation screen before confirming — and see this site's breakdown at /guides/adobe-early-termination-fee-explained for how the fee is calculated and the documented ways to avoid it.

Expect a retention offer

  • The online cancellation flow includes a forced 'select a reason' step and multiple confirmation screens.
  • The FTC's 2024 complaint documents that website cancellation forces consumers through numerous pages, and that phone or chat attempts met resistance, dropped sessions, and transfers.
  • The FTC alleges the early-termination fee on the default annual-paid-monthly plan was hidden.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • Adobe says paid Creative Cloud apps and most paid services are no longer available after cancellation.
  • Free membership benefits remain available.
  • Cloud storage is reduced to 5 GB.
  • If usage exceeds 5 GB, Adobe says there are 30 days to reduce online usage before access to files may be limited.

Refund notes

  • Adobe says a refund depends on when you cancel and the type of subscription: for most plans you get a full refund if you cancel within 14 days of the initial purchase. After 14 days on an Annual, paid monthly plan, a cancellation fee of 50% of the remaining contract balance applies; annual prepaid plans get no refund before the year ends; month-to-month plans carry no fee.

FAQ

How do I cancel Adobe Creative Cloud?

Sign in at account.adobe.com/plans, select Manage plan for the plan you want to end, then Cancel your plan. Check the plan details, select Continue to cancel, pick a reason, and select Confirm cancellation — then watch for Adobe's confirmation email. If you subscribed through Apple, Google, or Microsoft, cancel through that store instead.

Does Adobe charge a fee to cancel Creative Cloud?

It depends on your plan type. Adobe's subscription terms state that on an Annual, paid monthly plan, cancelling after the first 14 days incurs a fee of 50% of the remaining contract balance. Annual prepaid plans simply get no refund for the unused months, and month-to-month plans have no cancellation fee. The exact amount for your account is shown in the cancellation flow before you confirm — see /guides/adobe-early-termination-fee-explained for a full breakdown.

What if I do not see Cancel your plan in Adobe?

Adobe says the option is unavailable while a payment is processing or when there's a payment problem, and recommends waiting 24 hours and trying again. Also check that you're signed in to the Adobe account that owns the plan, and remember that app-store purchases are cancelled through Apple or Google, not on Adobe's site.

Can I get a refund after canceling Adobe Creative Cloud?

Adobe says a refund depends on when you cancel and what you purchased: most plans are fully refundable if cancelled within 14 days of the initial purchase. Past 14 days, annual prepaid plans are not refunded for the remaining months, and annual-paid-monthly plans owe the 50% early-termination fee instead of receiving a refund.

What happens to Creative Cloud storage after cancellation?

Adobe says your account converts to a free membership, cloud storage drops to 5 GB, and if you're over that limit you have 30 days to move files out of cloud storage. Files on your own computer stay where they are, and you can keep signing in to the Creative Cloud desktop app with the same credentials.
