How to cancel EE

To cancel EE, text PAC to 65075 to switch and keep your number, STAC to 75075 to leave without it, or use the Leave EE section at myaccount.ee.co.uk. A plain cancellation without switching takes 30 days' notice to customer services; EE broadband also runs on 30 days' notice. In-contract exits owe a Remaining Contract Charge.

Contract / fees
EE's leaving guide documents two different money outcomes depending on timing. Leave mobile inside your minimum term and EE charges a Remaining Contract Charge: it combines the outstanding monthly charges for the remainder of your term, deducts VAT, applies a 4% early-payment discount, adds any remaining Add to Plan charges, then adds VAT back. EE broadband inside the minimum term attracts an Early Cancellation Charge built from your monthly fees minus recurring discounts, reduced for costs EE saves, multiplied by the months left, with VAT added. Out of contract, neither charge applies — you just serve the 30-day notice. EE also lets you give that notice early: up to 45 days before the end of your commitment period. Separately, UK-wide rules matter here: since 17 January 2025 new contracts cannot carry inflation-linked price-rise terms, any rise must be disclosed in pounds and pence up front, and if a provider imposes a price rise the contract did not specify you get 30 days to exit penalty-free — the mechanics are at /guides/ofcom-broadband-mobile-contract-cancellation.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

If you're switching provider and keeping your number (PAC)

  1. 1

Text PAC to 65075 from the EE number you want to move — or request one online at myaccount.ee.co.uk/app/leave-ee, or by phone.

  2. 2

Text INFO to 85075 first if you want EE's statement of any early cancellation charges before committing.

  3. 3

Give the PAC to your new provider within 30 days — it expires after that.

  4. 4

Let the new provider run the switch; that transfer is what cancels your EE plan.

  5. 5

Check the final bill EE sends within 14 days — it includes any outstanding charges and early termination fees.

If you want to cancel EE mobile without moving to another provider

  1. 1

Contact EE customer services and ask for a standard disconnection — this route needs 30 days' notice.

  2. 2

If your minimum term is nearly up, note that EE lets you give this notice from up to 45 days before the end of your commitment period, so you can time the disconnection to the day the contract ends.

  3. 3

If you are still mid-term, ask EE to confirm the Remaining Contract Charge before you agree.

  4. 4

Keep a note of the date you gave notice, and check the final bill within 14 days of disconnection.

  • Without a PAC, your number is not moving anywhere — if you might ever want it again, take a PAC instead of a plain disconnection.

If you're cancelling EE Home Broadband & Home Phone

  1. 1

Get in touch with EE to cancel — the number its leaving guide lists for EE Home Broadband & Home Phone is 0800 079 8586, option 1.

  2. 2

Give 30 days' notice to cancel the broadband service.

  3. 3

If you are inside your minimum term, ask EE to state the Early Cancellation Charge — it is based on your monthly fees minus recurring discounts, reduced for costs EE saves, multiplied by the months remaining, plus VAT.

  4. 4

Check your final bill, which EE says arrives within 14 days of the cancellation completing.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

I texted PAC to 65075 but never used the code.

Nothing happened, by design — a PAC only takes effect when a new provider uses it. It expires after 30 days, and until then your EE plan carries on billing as normal. Request a fresh code when you're actually ready to switch.

I want to leave but the early charge seems too high.

Text INFO to 85075 for EE's own written statement of what's left on your plan — the Remaining Contract Charge formula includes a 4% early-payment discount, but it's still broadly the rest of your term. If the trigger for leaving is a price rise your contract didn't specify in pounds and pence, you may have a 30-day penalty-free exit instead: see /guides/ofcom-broadband-mobile-contract-cancellation.

I cancelled my Direct Debit and EE is chasing me.

Stopping the payment doesn't end a telecoms contract — notice does. Contact EE, serve the 30 days (or complete a PAC switch), and let the final bill collect. The Direct Debit Guarantee protects you against wrong amounts, not against amounts genuinely owed — details at /guides/direct-debit-guarantee-explained.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • With a PAC, your number moves to the new provider and the EE plan ends when the switch completes.
  • With a STAC or a standard disconnection, the number is not transferred.
  • EE sends the final bill within 14 days; in most cases add-ons such as TNT Sports or Apple Music through EE are terminated when the account closes.
  • Your online account stays viewable for 6 months, which is the window to download old bills.

Refund notes

  • EE's leaving pages document a final-bill process: the last bill arrives within 14 days of cancellation or switch completion and includes line rental credits, outstanding charges and any early termination fees. If that bill leaves you in credit, EE issues an automatic refund around eight days after the final bill date — straight to your bank account if you pay by Direct Debit, otherwise by cheque to your registered address. You can still sign in to view bills for 6 months after the account closes.

FAQ

How do I cancel my EE contract and keep my number?

Text PAC to 65075 from your EE phone — it's free and EE also offers the same request online at myaccount.ee.co.uk/app/leave-ee or by phone. Give the code, valid for 30 days, to your new provider; their switch order cancels the EE contract for you.

How much notice does EE need to cancel without switching?

30 days for a standard disconnection, on mobile and on EE broadband alike. EE's leaving guide adds a useful wrinkle: you can give that notice from up to 45 days before the end of your minimum term, so out-of-contract timing can be lined up in advance rather than costing you an extra month.

What does EE charge if I cancel mid-contract?

For mobile, EE documents a Remaining Contract Charge: the outstanding monthly charges for the rest of your term, minus VAT, minus a 4% early-payment discount, plus remaining add-on charges, with VAT then added back. For broadband, an Early Cancellation Charge is built from monthly fees minus discounts and saved costs, times months remaining, plus VAT. Text INFO to 85075 to see your own figure.

How do I cancel EE broadband?

EE's leaving guide asks for 30 days' notice and says to get in touch — the number it lists for EE Home Broadband & Home Phone is 0800 079 8586, option 1. If you're switching to another provider rather than going without, place the order with them and the switching process handles the handover.

When does the final EE bill arrive after cancelling?

EE says the final bill lands within 14 days of the cancellation or switch completing, covering outstanding charges, any early termination fees, and line rental credits. Your online account stays accessible for 6 months afterwards, so download anything you need before it goes.
