How to cancel Sundance Now

Sundance Now cancels online, but only where you subscribed. Website sign-ups use a browser: My Account, then Cancel Membership under Membership Settings; the iOS and Android apps cannot cancel. PayPal, Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku and Samsung subscribers cancel with that biller. A one-time 7-day free trial is advertised — cancel before it ends to avoid the first charge. Access runs to term end; no partial refunds.

Menus and labels can change. If the steps below don’t match what you see, use the official help link on this page.

Where to start with Sundance Now

Can you cancel online?
yes
Where to start
Sundance Now website, signed in, My Account → Membership Settings — unless Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, Samsung or PayPal is the biller, in which case you must start there instead.
Apple or Google billed?
Possible
Keeps access until
The end of the current paid Subscription Term. AMC's terms state you keep access through the remainder of the term you have paid for and the subscription ends on its last day.
Contract / fees
No minimum term or contract is documented for Sundance Now. The help center's "How much does Sundance Now cost?" article describes a monthly and an annual membership (check current pricing), and AMC's terms of use state the subscription "will renew automatically for the same period of time specified" until you cancel. The same help center article advertises a one-time 7-day free trial ("Try us free for seven days and cancel anytime") that expires on the seventh day at the time the account was created, so cancelling inside that window is what avoids the first charge — see https://support.sundancenow.com/kb/guide/en/how-much-does-sundance-now-cost-s3D6y3oCFk/Steps/

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • Access continues through the remainder of the Subscription Term already paid for, and the subscription ends on the last day of that term.
  • If you cancel during the one-time 7-day free trial, cancelling before it expires on the seventh day is what prevents the first charge.
  • AMC's terms state it does not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, partial subscription periods, or unwatched content, unless required by law.
  • Google Play cancellations show a confirmation message and Google sends a confirmation email; the subscription stops at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • For an Amazon Prime Video Channel add-on, the renewal date becomes the end date and Sundance Now remains watchable through Prime Video until that date.
  • Deleting the Sundance Now app does not end the subscription or stop charges — the help center repeats this warning on the Apple, Google Play, Amazon and Roku branches.

Refund notes

  • AMC's terms of use state that AMC does not provide refunds or credits for any partial-billing period, partial subscription period, or unwatched content, unless required by law. For store-billed subscriptions the help center routes refund requests to the biller: Roku (support.roku.com/contactus/1) and Amazon (Contact Amazon Support) are named directly in the cancel guide.

FAQ

Can I cancel Sundance Now inside the iOS or Android app?

No. The Sundance Now help center states that website sign-ups must cancel through a web browser on a computer, tablet, or mobile web, and that you cannot cancel your account in the iOS and Android apps. Sign in, click 'My Account' in the top right, then click 'Cancel Membership' under 'Membership Settings'.

I signed up for Sundance Now on the website but paid with PayPal — is cancelling different?

Yes. Sundance Now instructs PayPal-funded subscribers to log into PayPal and cancel the recurring payment to Sundance Now. The help center warns that otherwise PayPal will keep billing you and forwarding the payment. Once the recurring payment is cancelled, Sundance Now is notified and the subscription is cancelled.

Does deleting the Sundance Now app stop the billing?

No. The cancel guide repeats on its Apple, Google Play, Amazon and Roku branches that deleting the Sundance Now app from your device does not cancel the subscription. The subscription lives with whichever store billed you, and you have to cancel there to stop charges.

How do I find out where my Sundance Now subscription is billed from?

The 'How do I cancel?' guide includes an 'I don't remember, but I've been charged' path. It asks you to look at the description of the Sundance Now charge on your billing statement, since that descriptor identifies whether Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, Samsung or Sundance Now itself is the biller.

Do I keep watching Sundance Now after cancelling, and will I get a refund?

AMC's terms of use say you have access through the remainder of the Subscription Term you have paid for, and the subscription ends on the last day of that term. The same terms state AMC does not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unwatched content, unless required by law. Sundance Now also advertises a one-time seven-day free trial, and cancelling before it expires is what prevents the first charge. Check current pricing and terms before you cancel.
