How to cancel MLB.TV

MLB.TV cancels online: sign in at MLB.com, open your account profile, go to Manage Subscriptions (the Audio/Video Subscriptions section) and turn off auto-renewal. MLB also takes cancellations by email, phone, chat or web form. If you bought through Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon or ESPN, cancel with that partner — MLB cannot manage those subscriptions.

Keeps access until
The end of the period already paid for. MLB says a yearly cancellation takes effect at the start of the following subscription service year (it gives on or about March 1 as the MLB.TV example), and a monthly cancellation leaves access through the 30th day after your most recent billing date.
Contract / fees
No fixed-term contract or early-termination fee, but the billing year is effectively locked once it starts. MLB.TV Seasonal renews annually on or about March 1 at the then-current full seasonal price; MLB.TV Monthly bills each month of the season through and including October, then resumes on or about March 1 the next season unless auto-renewal is canceled. MLB states that a yearly cancellation only becomes effective at the start of the next subscription service year, and that it does not pro-rate. MLB also states that if it cannot process a charge to your primary payment card it will charge alternate cards saved in the Payment Methods section of your MLB.com account. MLB confirms there is no option to pause MLB.TV during or after the season.

  5. 5

You keep access until the end of the current billing cycle.

Expect a retention offer

  • MLB's own "How to Cancel your Subscription" article leads with phone, text, email, chat, contact-form and social-support channels, and places the self-serve online cancellation path below them.
  • The "cancel online, click here to get started" link inside MLB's official cancellation article resolves to a mangled email-tracking redirect rather than a clean account URL, and MLB's linked Amazon cancellation article currently returns an error page.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • Yearly MLB.TV: cancellation takes effect at the start of the following subscription service year (MLB cites on or about March 1), and you keep access until then.
  • Monthly MLB.TV: cancellation takes effect at the completion of your then-current service month; MLB says access runs through the 30th day after your most recent billing date.
  • Auto-renewal stops — MLB states a canceled yearly subscription will not renew in any subsequent year, and a canceled monthly subscription will not restart the following season unless you elect to re-start it.
  • Cancel before the billing date and MLB states you will not be billed at all for the next term.
  • Your MLB.com account stays open; only the MLB.TV entitlement ends.
  • If you bought MLB.TV through ESPN, canceling ESPN Unlimited does not cancel MLB.TV — MLB and ESPN both state you can drop ESPN Unlimited and keep MLB.TV.

Refund notes

  • MLB refunds the purchase price only if you request it within five (5) days of your initial purchase or within five (5) days of an annual automatic renewal date, either through the account tools in the Audio/Video Subscriptions section of your MLB.com account or by emailing subscriptioncancel@mlb.com. MLB states it will not grant more than one refund during any given Major League Baseball season and will not provide partial or pro-rated refunds. For Google Play purchases MLB states the purchases are non-refundable after purchase; for Apple App Store purchases MLB states all billing and refund inquiries must go to Apple.

FAQ

Can I cancel MLB.TV online, or do I have to call?

You can do it online. MLB documents self-serve cancellation in the Manage Subscriptions / Audio-Video Subscriptions section of your MLB.com account profile. Its own help article also lists email (subscriptioncancel@mlb.com), US phone and text support at 866-244-2291, international support at 315-203-6761, live chat via the CS Virtual Assistant, and a contact form — but those are alternatives, not requirements.

When does an MLB.TV cancellation actually take effect?

For a yearly MLB.TV plan, MLB says cancellation takes effect at the start of the following subscription service year, which it illustrates as on or about March 1, and you keep access until then. For MLB.TV Monthly, cancellation takes effect at the completion of your then-current service month, with access through the 30th day after your most recent billing date.

Can I get a refund on MLB.TV after canceling?

Only inside a narrow window. MLB refunds the purchase price if you request it within five days of your initial purchase or within five days of an annual renewal date, via the Audio/Video Subscriptions tools or subscriptioncancel@mlb.com. MLB states it will not grant more than one refund in any given MLB season and will not provide partial or pro-rated refunds.

Can I pause MLB.TV instead of canceling, and does monthly billing really stop after October?

MLB states there is no option to pause MLB.TV during or after the season — the only lever is canceling auto-renewal, which keeps access until the current paid period ends. MLB.TV Monthly subscribers are not charged after October, but MLB says those monthly charges resume on or about March 1 each season, so a quiet offseason does not mean the subscription is canceled.

I bought MLB.TV through Apple, Roku or ESPN — can MLB cancel it for me?

No. MLB states it does not have access to Apple App Store accounts and cannot manage Google Play subscriptions, and it points Roku and Amazon buyers to those partners. Cancel via Settings → Subscriptions on Apple, Google Play subscriptions, my.roku.com/subscriptions, Amazon, or your ESPN account. Canceling ESPN Unlimited does not cancel MLB.TV — both companies say you keep MLB.TV.
