No contract or minimum term is documented. Crunchyroll states you can cancel your Premium membership at any time. Monthly plans renew on the same date each month and annual plans renew on the same date each year, based on when you first subscribed or were last billed; Crunchyroll advises cancelling before that renewal date to avoid the next charge.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

Step 1: Check how you're billed (do this first)

  1. 1

Go to Crunchyroll.com on your web browser.

  2. 2

Log into your account and (if applicable) select your user profile.

  3. 3

Click your profile icon → Settings → Membership Info.

  4. 4

Your billing method is shown there. If you're subscribed through a different payment method or service, like PlayStation, it will appear on the Membership Info page.

  5. 5

Note: if you subscribed through a completely separate platform such as Amazon Prime Video or The Roku Channel, you won't be able to log in or see account settings on the Crunchyroll website or app — your subscription info lives in the service you used to sign up.

Cancel on the Crunchyroll website (billed directly by credit card or PayPal)

  1. 1

Using a web browser, log into your Crunchyroll account and select your profile.

  2. 2

Click your profile picture in the top-right corner, then click Settings from the drop-down menu.

  3. 3

Go to Membership Info → Cancel Subscription.

  4. 4

    Click No thanks, Finish Cancellation.

  5. 5

You can optionally share feedback about why you're cancelling, then click Submit and exit. If you'd rather not say, click Skip and exit.

  6. 6

You'll keep all of your Premium perks until your membership expires at the end of your billing period.

Cancel from inside the Crunchyroll mobile app (Apple- or Google-billed subscribers)

  1. 1

Tap your profile on the bottom right, then tap Membership.

  2. 2

    Tap Manage.

  3. 3

Swipe to your current membership tier, then tap Cancel Subscription.

  4. 4

Scroll down and tap Continue with Cancellation.

  5. 5

Tap Crunchyroll to open your subscription.

  6. 6

    Tap Cancel subscription.

  7. 7

You'll keep access to all of your Premium perks until your membership expires at the end of your billing period.

  8. 8

Trouble locating the subscription in the Google Play Store? Crunchyroll advises checking all of the accounts connected to your Google Play Wallet — the subscription may be linked to another account payment method by mistake.

Cancel a partner-billed membership (Amazon, PlayStation, Roku, or YouTube Primetime)

  1. 1

Open the Membership Info section of your Crunchyroll account settings at crunchyroll.com/account/membership.

  2. 2

Use the link shown there — it takes you to the platform you used to sign up for Crunchyroll.

  3. 3

Log in on that platform and cancel the subscription there.

  4. 4

Crunchyroll states you won't see the option to cancel on Crunchyroll.com, and that Crunchyroll Support will not be able to help you manage a partner-billed account.

  5. 5

Crunchyroll links out to each partner's own instructions: Amazon (Manage Your Subscriptions), PlayStation (How to manage subscriptions on PlayStation), Roku (Manage or cancel subscriptions through Roku), and YouTube Primetime (Cancel your Primetime Channel subscription).

Cancellation blocked by a pending transaction — contact Crunchyroll Support

  1. 1

If you see the message "You may not cancel your membership at this time," it likely means there is a pending transaction on your account.

  2. 2

Crunchyroll notes payments usually process within a few minutes, but a stuck payment may be retried automatically and the "pending" status can stay visible for a few days.

  3. 3

Wait 24 hours, then try cancelling again from Membership Info.

  4. 4

If you still can't cancel, reach out to Crunchyroll Support via the chat option in the Help Center — Crunchyroll states support is available 24/7 and can help finalize the cancellation.

Expect a retention offer

  • Web cancel flow shows an interstitial you must decline by clicking "No thanks, Finish Cancellation" before the cancellation goes through.
  • After confirming, an optional exit survey asks why you're cancelling — you must click either "Submit and exit" or "Skip and exit" to finish.
  • In the Crunchyroll mobile app, tapping "Cancel Subscription" requires scrolling down and tapping "Continue with Cancellation".
  • Google Play subscribers are offered "Pause my Subscription" inside the app's cancellation flow as an alternative to cancelling.
  • The help article suggests cancelling and resubscribing later, and notes you can "cancel your cancellation" any time before the billing cycle ends.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • You keep all of your Premium perks until your membership expires at the end of your current billing period.
  • Future payments stop and the subscription does not renew.
  • You can undo the cancellation any time before the billing cycle ends to keep the membership without resubscribing.
  • Crunchyroll warns that deleting the app, logging out, or removing your payment method does NOT cancel the subscription — charges continue until you cancel through the method you signed up with.
  • If you pay with a Crunchyroll membership gift card and have no payment method attached, there is nothing to cancel — access ends automatically once the gift access runs out.

Refund notes

  • No partial or prorated refund is documented. Crunchyroll's cancellation article says to cancel before your next billing date to avoid the charge, and that you keep Premium access until the period ends. Crunchyroll's Store return policy states that digital goods such as memberships and gift cards cannot be refunded.

FAQ

Does cancelling Crunchyroll Premium end my access immediately?

No. Crunchyroll's help center states you keep all of your Premium perks until your membership expires at the end of your current billing period. Crunchyroll's own example: if you cancel on the 3rd and your renewal date is the 1st, you keep Premium access until the 1st of the next month.

Why doesn't Crunchyroll show me a Cancel Subscription button?

Crunchyroll documents four reasons. You may be logged into a different Crunchyroll account (users often have several tied to different email addresses). Your membership may be billed through Apple, Google, or a partner such as Amazon, PlayStation, Roku, or YouTube — in which case you cancel on that platform. You may be on a gift-card membership with no payment method attached, which ends automatically. Or there may be a pending transaction, in which case Crunchyroll says to wait 24 hours and then chat with Support.

Can I pause my Crunchyroll membership instead of cancelling it?

Only if you subscribed through Google Play. Crunchyroll documents a "Pause my Subscription" option in the Android app: tap your account → Membership → Manage → find your current tier → Cancel Subscription → scroll down → Pause my Subscription. Crunchyroll states that if you pay by any other method there is currently no way to pause, and recommends cancelling now and resubscribing later.

Will deleting the Crunchyroll app or removing my card stop the billing?

No. Crunchyroll explicitly warns that deleting the app, logging out, or removing your payment method will not cancel your subscription, and that membership charges will continue. You have to cancel through the same method you originally used to sign up.

Does Crunchyroll refund the unused part of my billing period if I cancel early?

No partial refund is documented. Crunchyroll's cancellation article advises cancelling before your next billing date to avoid the charge, and says you keep Premium access until the period ends. Crunchyroll's Store return policy separately states that digital goods such as memberships and gift cards cannot be refunded.
