How to cancel Zapier

Zapier has no separate cancel button. Open the Billing and usage page, click Manage, and select Zapier's Free plan. The change takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, not immediately, and you can reverse it until then. All purchases, including annual plans and renewals, are non-refundable.

Menus and labels can change. If the steps below don’t match what you see, use the official help link on this page.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

If you pay Zapier directly on a monthly or annual plan

  1. 1

Visit the Billing and usage page in your Zapier account.

  2. 2

    Click the Manage button.

  3. 3

    Select Zapier's Free plan.

  • Zapier states: "There is no separate 'Cancel' button." Selecting the Free plan is the documented cancellation.
  • The change takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, not immediately.
  • You may still incur charges for pay-per-task usage from the current billing cycle. On monthly billing those extra task charges appear at cycle end; on annual billing they are charged monthly for months in which extra tasks were used.

If you are on a Zapier free trial

  1. 1

Check which trial you are on — Zapier documents a 14-day trial for new users and a shorter 7-day re-trial.

  2. 2

The 14-day trial for new users does not require a payment method and automatically converts to the Free plan, so no action is needed.

  3. 3

The 7-day re-trial does require a payment method and must be cancelled manually before it auto-upgrades you to a paid plan.

  4. 4

To cancel it, open the Billing and usage page, click Manage, and select the Free plan before the trial ends.

  • Because the re-trial auto-upgrades, put the end date in your calendar rather than relying on a reminder email.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

You cannot find a way to cancel and are afraid of being billed again.

Zapier documents that no cancel button exists. Go to the Billing and usage page, click Manage, and pick the Free plan. Then confirm the page shows the downgrade scheduled for the end of your current billing cycle.

You downgraded but a Zapier charge still arrived.

Check whether it is pay-per-task usage. Zapier says charges for pay-per-task usage from the current billing cycle can still apply after you downgrade — monthly plans see them at cycle end, annual plans see them monthly for months with extra tasks.

Your automations stopped working after the downgrade landed.

That is the documented Free-plan behaviour: Zaps with more than one action step are turned off, runs using premium apps or multiple actions are held, and shared app connections are disconnected. Rebuild critical Zaps as single-action workflows or upgrade again.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • Your paid plan stays active until the end of the current billing cycle, and Zapier's downgrade article says you can stop the downgrade at any time before the end of the billing cycle.
  • Once you are on Free, Zapier says Zap workflows with more than one action step will be turned off.
  • Zap runs are held rather than executed if they use a premium app or have more than one action.
  • Moving down from Team or Enterprise removes collaboration features, and Zapier says any shared app connections will be disconnected once your account is downgraded.
  • Pay-per-task charges accrued during the current cycle can still be billed after the downgrade.

Refund notes

  • Zapier's separate refund policy article states that all purchases are considered non-refundable — monthly and annual plans, plan upgrades, renewals and add-ons — and that once a charge is processed it is considered final and will not be refunded. Annual plans get the same treatment as monthly ones: your plan simply remains active until the end of the current billing cycle.

FAQ

Where is the cancel button in Zapier's billing settings?

There isn't one. Zapier's own help article says "There is no separate 'Cancel' button." You cancel by visiting the Billing and usage page, clicking Manage, and selecting Zapier's Free plan. That downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

Will Zapier refund my annual plan if I cancel early?

No. Zapier's refund policy article states all purchases are non-refundable, including monthly and annual plans, plan upgrades, renewals and add-ons, and that once a charge is processed it is final. Your plan simply remains active until the end of the current billing cycle.

What happens to my Zaps after I cancel Zapier?

Once you are on the Free plan, Zapier says Zap workflows with more than one action step will be turned off, and Zap runs are held if they use a premium app or have more than one action. Shared app connections are disconnected when the account is downgraded.

Can I undo a Zapier downgrade before it takes effect?

Yes. Zapier's downgrade article says you can stop the downgrade at any time before the end of the billing cycle. Because the change only applies at the end of that cycle, your paid plan keeps running until then.

Do I still get charged for tasks after cancelling Zapier?

You can be. Zapier says you may still receive charges for pay-per-task usage from the current billing cycle. On monthly billing those extra task charges appear at the end of the cycle; on annual billing they are charged monthly for months in which extra tasks were used.
