Cancel Xfinity Home by phone (the primary documented route)
- 1
Have your Xfinity account number and the service address on the account in front of you.
- 2
Call the cancellation line Xfinity lists on its own cancel page: 1-800-934-6489.
- 3
Tell the representative you want to disconnect Xfinity Home specifically, and state whether you are keeping Xfinity Internet, TV, or Voice — that answer determines whether any equipment installment balance keeps billing monthly or gets accelerated.
- 4
Decline the alternatives the representative offers (seasonal hold, service downgrade, bill reduction) if you want a genuine disconnect. Note that under a minimum-term arrangement, the Control Services Agreement treats a downgrade the same as terminating.
- 5
Ask the representative to state, on the call: your disconnect date, whether a minimum-term early termination fee applies to your account, and the remaining balance on any Xfinity Home equipment installment agreement.
- 6
Ask which agreement governs your account. The Control Services Agreement (home control / self-monitoring) is the one that publishes the fixed early-termination formula; professionally monitored alarm service runs under the Residential Alarm Installation and Services Agreement, whose universal form states service is month-to-month unless you are subject to a minimum term but does not publish a fee formula — any fee there would come from a separate minimum-term addendum. Ask the agent to read out the actual amount on your account rather than relying on a published figure.
- 7
Ask for emailed or written confirmation of the disconnect order, and note the date, time, and representative's name.
