How to cancel ElevenLabs

ElevenLabs cancels on the web: log in at elevenlabs.io, click your profile icon, choose Subscription, then Billing, and under Modify Plan select Cancel Plan, Proceed, then Cancel Subscription. It takes effect at the end of your billing cycle, when the account moves to the free plan and any unused credits are lost.

Step-by-step cancellation

If you subscribed on elevenlabs.io

    Log in to your account at elevenlabs.io.

    Click your profile icon in the top right corner of the website to open your account menu, then select Subscription.

    Click Billing.

    In the Modify Plan section, select Cancel Plan, then Proceed.

    In the next step, select Cancel Subscription to confirm.

    Confirm you see the message that the cancellation is scheduled for the end of your current billing cycle.

The Cancel Plan button or popup doesn't respond.

ElevenLabs attributes this to the browser: it says a browser can block popups from appearing or a button from working, and recommends Chrome, Edge or Firefox. If it still fails, email team@elevenlabs.io from the address on your ElevenLabs account.

You cancelled on the website but the app still shows a paid plan.

A subscription bought in the ElevenLabs iOS or Android app is billed by Apple or Google and cannot be cancelled from the website. ElevenLabs directs you to the Apple or Google Manage subscriptions settings for that plan.

You cancelled and immediately lost credits you had banked.

This matches what ElevenLabs documents for the end of the cycle: unused credits are not rolled over on downgrade or cancellation and the account moves to the free plan. If it happened earlier than your cycle end date, contact team@elevenlabs.io from your account email.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, not immediately, and you keep the paid plan until then.
  • At that point the account is transferred onto the ElevenLabs free plan, and unused credits are lost rather than rolled over.
  • Your voices are not wiped, but access narrows to what the free plan allows: ElevenLabs says no voices are removed when you drop a tier, you can only use as many as the new plan includes, and a Professional Voice Clone stays on the account but cannot be used on the Starter or free plans. For generated audio, ElevenLabs says it "will also remain accessible to you for an unspecified amount of time" and makes no guarantee it will always be available under the free tier, so download anything you need before the cycle ends.
  • Before the cycle ends you can click Resume subscription to reverse the cancellation.

Refund notes

  • ElevenLabs publishes a single rule: "You are eligible for a refund if a request is filed within 14 days of payment and no credit quota was used in the period for which you are seeking the refund."
  • Refund requests are made by emailing team@elevenlabs.io from your ElevenLabs account email address, stating the reasons for the refund. There is no self-serve refund control.
  • Refunds for purchases made in the iOS or Android app go through Apple's App Store support or Google's Play Store support instead.

What happens to my unused ElevenLabs credits when I cancel?

You lose them. ElevenLabs states that when the cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing cycle, the account is transferred onto the free plan and "you will lose any unused credits on your account". While you are subscribed, up to two months' worth of unused credits can roll over, but ElevenLabs says unused credits are not rolled over on a downgrade or cancellation. Spend them before the cycle ends.

Why did ElevenLabs try to charge me after I cancelled?

ElevenLabs says this happens when the cancellation is started too late. A cancellation doesn't take effect immediately - it ends the subscription at the end of the current billing cycle. If you cancel after the current cycle has already ended, even when the new invoice hasn't been paid yet, ElevenLabs says the new cycle has already begun and the system will not cancel the subscription until the end of that new cycle.

Can I undo an ElevenLabs cancellation before it takes effect?

Yes. ElevenLabs says that at any time before the end of your billing cycle you can click Resume subscription to cancel the cancellation request. You will find it in the same place you cancelled: profile icon, then Subscription, then Billing. Until the cycle ends the paid plan is still active, so nothing is lost by reversing it.

Does ElevenLabs refund a subscription I've already paid for?

Only under one documented condition: ElevenLabs says you are eligible for a refund if the request is filed within 14 days of payment and no credit quota was used in the period you are claiming for. Requests go by email to team@elevenlabs.io from your ElevenLabs account address, with your reasons. Purchases made in the iOS or Android app are refunded by Apple or Google instead.

Do I lose my ElevenLabs voices and files on the free plan?

Not immediately, but do not treat the free plan as safe storage. ElevenLabs says that if you downgrade, no voices are removed from your account - you can just only access as many as the new plan allows, and a Professional Voice Clone stays on the account but cannot be used on Starter or free. For audio you already generated, ElevenLabs says it will remain accessible "for an unspecified amount of time" and explicitly does not guarantee it will always be available under the free tier. Download anything you care about before the cycle ends. Your commercial licence for audio generated while subscribed does survive.
