How to cancel Replit Core

Replit Core cancels from Settings then Billing on replit.com: pick the cancel option and complete the confirmation. You keep Core features until the end of the billing period, then move to the free Starter plan. Published apps may go offline and custom domain connections are removed, so download anything you want to keep first.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

If you subscribed on replit.com

  1. 1

Open Settings, then Billing under Account.

  2. 2

Select the option to cancel your subscription and complete the confirmation steps.

  3. 3

Watch for a pause offer - Replit says eligible subscribers see a one-month pause option at the point of cancelling.

  4. 4

Check the outcome: Replit says you keep your plan features until the end of the billing period, after which the account moves to the free Starter plan.

  5. 5

If your subscription shows as past_due, resolve the failed payment before cancelling. Replit says to use Settings > Billing > Update payment method, and that it retries the outstanding payment automatically after you save.

  • Replit says plan downgrades work the same way and are scheduled rather than applied immediately: "Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current billing period, so you keep what you paid for until then." (docs.replit.com/billing/plans/changing-your-plan)
  • Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting an organization. Replit's separate teams-billing page documents that deleting an organization removes all resources immediately - "all resources will be deleted (Replit Apps, published apps, Projects, etc.)" and "you will immediately lose access to the organization".

If you subscribed to Replit Core in the iOS app

  1. 1

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app and tap your name.

  2. 2

    Tap Subscriptions.

  3. 3

    Tap the Replit subscription.

  4. 4

Tap Cancel Subscription - Apple notes you might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button.

  5. 5

On a Mac, open the App Store app, click your name, then Account Settings, then Subscriptions, click the subscription and click Cancel Subscription.

  • Replit's own help centre does not publish App Store cancellation steps, so the taps above come from Apple's official guide. Replit's App Store listing confirms the plan is sold as an in-app purchase, listing "Replit Core" and "Replit Core (Hacker)" at $20.00 under In-App Purchases.
  • An Apple-billed subscription will not appear in Replit's own Settings > Billing page, and Replit cannot cancel it for you.

If you subscribed to Replit Core in the Android app

  1. 1

On your Android device, go to subscriptions in Google Play. Google says to make sure you are signed in to the Google Account that has the subscription.

  2. 2

Select the Replit subscription you want to cancel.

  3. 3

    Tap Cancel subscription.

  4. 4

    Follow the instructions.

  5. 5

Google states: "When you cancel a subscription you'll still be able to use your subscription for the time you've already paid."

  • Replit's own help centre does not publish Google Play cancellation steps, so the taps above are Google's own wording from its official guide. Replit's Google Play listing confirms the app carries in-app purchases.
  • Google warns that uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.

Expect a retention offer

  • Replit documents a one-month pause offered in place of cancelling: "Some subscribers qualify to pause their subscription for one month instead of canceling. If you're eligible, the option appears when you go to cancel." Replit adds that you can cancel a scheduled pause before it takes effect, but an active pause can't end early, and you can pause only once.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

You cancelled but your published app went offline sooner than expected.

Replit ties this to the plan transition, not to the cancellation click: it says published apps may go offline, custom domains are removed and storage is reduced once the account moves to the free Starter plan at the end of the billing period. Download your code and data before that date.

You cancelled the wrong thing and lost your projects.

Cancelling a subscription and deleting an organization are different actions. Replit's teams-billing documentation says removing an organization deletes all resources - Replit Apps, published apps and Projects - and you immediately lose access. Cancel the subscription from Settings > Billing instead if you only want billing to stop.

You were charged twice in one month.

Replit lists three usual causes: a subscription fee plus a separate usage charge that hit a billing threshold, a retried payment that succeeded after an earlier failure, or more than one active subscription. Open Settings > Account usage and select See previous invoices to see what each charge is for, then contact support if it still doesn't add up.

You want the subscription moved to a different account or email.

Replit says subscriptions are tied to your Replit account and can't be transferred directly. To keep the subscription and change the email, edit it in Settings > Profile. To move it to another account entirely, contact Replit Support - these are handled case by case.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • You keep your plan features until the end of the billing period, then the account moves to the free Starter plan.
  • Replit warns that published apps may go offline, custom domain connections are removed, and storage is reduced, and tells you to download anything you want to keep first.
  • Downgrade effects Replit documents include a smaller monthly credit allotment, loss of Agent features such as Turbo mode, lower collaborator limits with recently added collaborators losing access, removal of viewer seats if the lower plan excludes them, and a shorter database restore window.
  • You can resubscribe from Settings > Billing at any time.

Refund notes

  • Replit states that Agent and AI usage charges are non-refundable "because each charge reflects compute that Replit already used", and that custom domain registration fees cannot be reversed because of third-party costs.
  • For subscription fees, Replit does not publish a fixed window: it says exact subscription refund windows and eligibility are confirmed by the support team for your specific account and plan.
  • Replit's documented request order is to cancel the subscription first in Settings > Billing, then contact Replit Support from your registered email with the reason, including your payment intent ID (it starts with pi_) if you are disputing a specific charge.
  • Replit asks you to contact support before starting a chargeback, warning that disputes can lock accounts.

FAQ

What happens to my Replit apps and published deployments after I cancel Replit Core?

Replit warns that when the plan ends, published apps may go offline, custom domain connections are removed, and storage is reduced, and it explicitly tells you to download anything you want to keep before the transition. Your account moves to the free Starter plan at the end of the billing period. This is separate from deleting an organization, which Replit says deletes all resources immediately.

Can I pause my Replit subscription instead of cancelling it?

Sometimes. Replit says some subscribers qualify to pause for one month instead of cancelling, and that if you are eligible the option appears when you go to cancel. During a pause the next payment is skipped, no monthly credits are granted, published projects stay live for collaborators, and Agent and hosting usage is still billed pay-as-you-go. You can pause only once, and an active pause cannot end early.

Does Replit refund the unused part of a Core subscription?

Replit does not publish a fixed refund window. It says exact subscription refund windows and eligibility are confirmed by the support team for your specific account and plan. Agent and AI usage charges are non-refundable because they reflect compute already used, and custom domain registration fees cannot be reversed. Cancel first in Settings > Billing, then contact support from your registered email with your payment intent ID.

I subscribed to Replit Core in the mobile app - where do I cancel?

In the store that billed you. Replit's App Store listing sells Replit Core as an in-app purchase and its Google Play listing carries in-app purchases, and a store-billed plan will not appear in Replit's Settings > Billing page. On iPhone go to Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap Replit, then Cancel Subscription. On Android use Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Replit > Cancel subscription.

Why can't I cancel my Replit subscription while it shows past_due?

Replit says a past_due status usually means a payment failed, and that you should resolve it before cancelling. Open Settings > Billing, choose Update payment method, and add or update your card - Replit retries the outstanding payment automatically once you save. If it still fails, contact Replit Support with your payment intent ID, which starts with pi_. Replit notes that billing failure notices sometimes land in spam.
