How to cancel Teladoc

Teladoc has no cancel button. Condition Management programs end by emailing membersupport@teladochealth.com or calling 800-835-2362 — Teladoc's FAQ says you can cancel any time. Scheduled visits you cancel yourself: sign in, open the visit, choose Cancel / Reschedule, at least 24 hours ahead or a late fee applies. Most care is billed per visit, not monthly.

For a scheduled visit, sign in at teladochealth.com or the Teladoc Health app and open the upcoming visit on the home screen. For a Condition Management program or account billing, contact member support at membersupport@teladochealth.com or 800-835-2362.

Keeps access until
Teladoc does not publish a fixed access-end date for cancellations. Because most Teladoc care is billed per visit rather than on a recurring cycle, there is usually no prepaid period left to run out. If an employer or health plan sponsors your access, that access ends on the sponsor's schedule rather than yours. Teladoc's terms say you may cancel or terminate your enrollment at any time.

Contract / fees
Teladoc's terms of service state you may cancel or terminate your enrollment in Teladoc Services at any time, and Teladoc's own pages describe no membership contract or minimum term. The one hard deadline is per appointment, not per membership: cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before a scheduled visit, or a late-cancellation/no-show fee applies. Teladoc waives the first late-cancellation or no-show fee, and states the fee does not apply to Medicare, Medicaid or Federal Employee Health Plan members, or people living outside the United States. No fee applies when the care provider cancels or doesn't appear. A credit or debit card is required on file to cover a possible fee; Teladoc states HSA/FSA cards cannot be charged for penalty fees. Note that most Teladoc access is either sponsored by an employer or health plan or billed per visit, rather than charged as a monthly consumer subscription — if an employer or plan sponsors your access, that benefit is controlled by the sponsor.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

Cancel a Condition Management program

  1. 1

Email membersupport@teladochealth.com or call 800-835-2362 (1-800-Teladoc). Teladoc's FAQ states you can cancel your program at any time using either method.

  2. 2

Say clearly that you want to cancel your Condition Management program, and give the name and date of birth on the account so support can find your enrollment.

  3. 3

Ask what happens to any Teladoc-supplied meter, device or supplies — Teladoc's public pages do not document a return process.

  4. 4

Ask for written confirmation of the cancellation and keep it with the date and the name of the rep.

  5. 5

Separately, to stop program messages without cancelling, Teladoc documents an opt-out under Notifications in the drop-down menu at the top right after you sign in.

Cancel or reschedule a scheduled visit

  1. 1

Sign in at teladochealth.com or open the Teladoc Health mobile app.

  2. 2

Find your upcoming visit on the home screen.

  3. 3

    Select Cancel / Reschedule.

  4. 4

Choose a new time or confirm your cancellation.

  5. 5

Do this at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. Teladoc's cancellation policy applies a late-cancellation or no-show fee inside that window, though it waives the first one.

  6. 6

Alternatively, use the Reschedule / Cancel Appointment link in your original appointment confirmation or reminder email.

Stop billing or close the account

  1. 1

Teladoc's account help page documents updating billing information under My Account on teladochealth.com or the mobile app, but documents no self-serve control to close an account or end a membership.

  2. 2

Call 1-800-Teladoc (1-800-835-2362) or email membersupport@teladochealth.com and ask to end your enrollment and remove the stored payment method.

  3. 3

Have the charge date and amount from your card or bank statement ready so support can identify which Teladoc product is billing you.

  4. 4

If your Teladoc access comes through an employer or health plan, ask your HR or plan administrator about the benefit itself — the sponsor, not you, controls that arrangement.

  5. 5

Request written confirmation, then watch the next statement to confirm the charge has stopped.

Expect a retention offer

  • Teladoc publishes no save-offer or retention script. The friction is structural: there is no cancel control in My Account, so a Condition Management cancellation runs through a member-support agent by email or phone who confirms it before it takes effect — send it in writing so you have a dated record.
  • Teladoc's help pages surface a Notifications opt-out for program messages, which stops the contact without stopping the enrollment. If you want the program itself ended, say so explicitly rather than only muting communications.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • Teladoc's terms of service state you may cancel or terminate your enrollment in Teladoc Services at any time.
  • Cancelling a scheduled visit more than 24 hours ahead avoids the late-cancellation fee. Inside 24 hours, or as a no-show, a fee applies — though Teladoc waives the first one.
  • Teladoc states the late-cancellation and no-show fee does not apply to Medicare, Medicaid or Federal Employee Health Plan members, or to people living outside the United States, and does not apply when the care provider cancels or fails to appear.
  • Per Teladoc's terms, a cancellation made before services have been provided and within the applicable cancellation window earns a full refund; once services have commenced, you are responsible for full payment.
  • Ending a Condition Management program stops the coaching and program contact attached to it. Teladoc's public pages do not document what happens to supplied meters, devices or supplies — ask member support at the time you cancel.
  • Telehealth caveat: cancelling ends the care relationship, so refills or follow-up handled by a Teladoc prescriber stop with it. Teladoc does not publish a prescription-transfer process, so arrange ongoing care or a pharmacy transfer with another provider before you cancel.
  • If your access came through an employer or health plan, cancelling with Teladoc does not change the underlying benefit — that is controlled by the sponsor, so raise it with HR or the plan administrator.

Refund notes

  • Teladoc's terms state that if you cancel before the applicable services have been provided and within any established cancellation period, and you have already paid, you receive a full refund. They also state that once services have commenced, or have not been cancelled within an established cancellation window, you are responsible for full payment. There is no documented self-serve refund tool — refund requests go through 1-800-Teladoc (1-800-835-2362) or membersupport@teladochealth.com. For visits specifically, cancelling more than 24 hours ahead avoids the late-cancellation fee entirely, and Teladoc waives the first late-cancellation or no-show fee.

FAQ

Can I cancel Teladoc online without calling?

Partly. Teladoc's help center documents a self-serve path for appointments — sign in at teladochealth.com or the app, find the upcoming visit, and select Cancel / Reschedule. But there is no documented button to end a Condition Management program or close an account. Teladoc's FAQ routes that to membersupport@teladochealth.com or 800-835-2362.

What is Teladoc's 24-hour cancellation rule?

Teladoc's cancellation policy applies a late-cancellation or no-show fee if you cancel within 24 hours of a scheduled visit or miss it. Teladoc says the first such fee is waived, and that the fee does not apply if you have Medicare, Medicaid or Federal Employee Health Plan coverage or live outside the United States. No fee applies if the provider cancels.

Am I actually paying Teladoc a monthly subscription?

Often not. Teladoc's FAQ says many health plans and employers provide Teladoc as part of their benefits, and people without that coverage use it at a flat rate per visit — check current pricing on Teladoc's site. If you see a recurring charge, it is more likely a Condition Management program or a plan-side fee than a Teladoc consumer subscription, so confirm with member support which one you have before cancelling.

Does cancelling Teladoc affect my prescription or ongoing care plan?

Teladoc does not publish a prescription-transfer or records-handoff process for members who cancel, and ending a Condition Management program stops the coaching and program contact tied to it. If a Teladoc prescriber handles your refills or you are mid-program, line up another provider or a pharmacy transfer before you cancel, and ask member support what to do with any Teladoc-supplied meter or device.

How do I get a refund from Teladoc?

Teladoc's terms state that cancelling before the services have been provided and within the applicable cancellation window earns a full refund, and that once services have commenced you are responsible for full payment. Teladoc documents no self-serve refund tool, so refund questions go to 1-800-Teladoc (1-800-835-2362) or membersupport@teladochealth.com — reference the visit date and charge amount.
