How to cancel Rosetta Stone

Cancel wherever you subscribed. If billed through Apple, open Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, tap Rosetta Stone, and cancel. If through Google Play, open the Play Store > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. If you subscribed directly on Rosetta Stone's site, sign in on a computer and turn off auto-renew under My Account. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Menus and labels can change. If the steps below don’t match what you see, use the official help link on this page.

Contract / fees
Rosetta Stone subscriptions renew automatically until auto-renew is turned off; no minimum term, early-termination fee, or notice period is documented on Rosetta Stone's cancellation help pages. Two different account systems exist — Sapphire has an explicit "Cancel subscription" control, while older accounts expose only a "TURN OFF AUTO RENEW" option, which Rosetta Stone says cannot be used from the mobile app or mobile website.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • Cancelling in Sapphire, or selecting TURN OFF AUTO RENEW on an older account, stops the next renewal charge. Rosetta Stone's help pages do not state that access is cut off at the moment you cancel.
  • Rosetta Stone does not document any notice period — its cancellation pages state no minimum number of days before the renewal date.
  • Refunds are handled separately from cancellation. Rosetta Stone documents a 14-day satisfaction guarantee on Sapphire subscriptions bought directly from Rosetta Stone, and a 30-day money-back guarantee on products bought on rosettastone.com. Neither is self-serve — you contact Rosetta Stone's Memberships team.
  • If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancelling inside Rosetta Stone's own account settings does not stop that billing. Rosetta Stone directs App Store subscribers to Apple and Google Play subscribers to Google, and states it cannot issue refunds for purchases made through Apple.
  • Products bought from an authorized retailer are subject to that retailer's return policy, which Rosetta Stone notes may differ from its own.

Refund notes

  • Rosetta Stone documents a 14-day satisfaction guarantee on Sapphire subscriptions purchased directly from Rosetta Stone, and a 30-day, no-risk money-back guarantee on products purchased from the Rosetta Stone website. Refunds are not self-serve: Rosetta Stone directs you to email or phone its Memberships team and to include your eight-digit order number from the order confirmation email. Rosetta Stone states that Apple purchases must be refunded by Apple, which "reserve[s] the right to approve or deny your refund request".

FAQ

Where is the cancel button in a Rosetta Stone account?

It depends which version you have. In Rosetta Stone Sapphire, sign in through a web browser, click the profile icon in the top right-hand corner to reach Account settings, select "Manage subscription", then click "Cancel subscription". Older Rosetta Stone accounts have no button labelled Cancel — you click your current learning language on the top toolbar, choose "My Account", and under "Your products" select "TURN OFF AUTO RENEW".

Why can't I cancel my Rosetta Stone subscription from the mobile app?

For subscriptions bought directly from Rosetta Stone on an older account, Rosetta Stone states that cancelling "is not currently available within the mobile app or mobile website" — you have to sign in on a computer and use My Account. Rosetta Stone Sapphire is cancelled in a web browser under Account settings then Manage subscription. Separately, if you subscribed inside the iPhone or Android app, the charge belongs to Apple or Google and must be cancelled there.

Does cancelling Rosetta Stone Sapphire end your access immediately?

Rosetta Stone's help pages do not say access stops the moment you cancel. On older accounts the documented mechanism is "TURN OFF AUTO RENEW", which stops the next charge rather than the term you already paid for. Rosetta Stone does not publish an explicit end-of-access statement, so check the renewal date shown under Manage subscription before you cancel.

How do I get a refund from Rosetta Stone after cancelling?

Rosetta Stone documents a 14-day satisfaction guarantee on Sapphire subscriptions purchased directly from Rosetta Stone, and a 30-day money-back guarantee on products purchased from the Rosetta Stone website. Neither refund is self-serve — Rosetta Stone tells you to contact its Memberships team by email or phone and to include the eight-digit order number from your order confirmation email. Purchases made through Apple must be refunded by Apple.

Does Rosetta Stone offer a discount or a pause option when you try to cancel?

Rosetta Stone's published cancellation help pages do not document any save offer, retention discount, or pause-instead option in the cancel flow. The only steps Rosetta Stone documents are the account-settings ones — for Sapphire, Manage subscription then Cancel subscription; for older accounts, TURN OFF AUTO RENEW.
