How to cancel PocketGuard

To cancel PocketGuard Plus, open the web app's Settings tab, click Customer Portal, then Cancel plan. In the mobile app, open the sidebar, tap Billing, then Modify subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, because PocketGuard subscriptions renew automatically. App Store or Google Play purchases must be cancelled there.

Menus and labels can change. If the steps below don’t match what you see, use the official help link on this page.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

If PocketGuard bills you directly (web app or in-app billing screen)

  1. 1

Go to the Settings tab of the PocketGuard web app.

  2. 2

Click on the Customer Portal button.

  3. 3

Click on the Cancel plan option and confirm.

  4. 4

On mobile instead: open the app sidebar, scroll down and tap Billing, then choose Modify subscription.

  5. 5

Do this at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

  • PocketGuard announced the web-app Customer Portal specifically so members could update a payment method or cancel without contacting support.
  • PocketGuard's help centre lists support@pocketguard.com for questions about Plus.

If you subscribed inside the PocketGuard iPhone or iPad app

  1. 1

Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and tap your name.

  2. 2

    Tap Subscriptions.

  3. 3

    Tap the PocketGuard subscription.

  4. 4

    Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

  • Apple notes that if there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already cancelled.
  • PocketGuard's App Store listing sells auto-renewing PocketGuard Plus subscriptions as in-app purchases, so a subscription started there is billed by Apple and cannot be stopped from PocketGuard's own Customer Portal.

If you subscribed inside the PocketGuard Android app

  1. 1

On your Android device, go to subscriptions in Google Play.

  2. 2

Select the PocketGuard subscription you want to cancel.

  3. 3

    Tap Cancel subscription.

  4. 4

    Follow the instructions to confirm.

  • Google states that when you cancel a subscription you can still use it for the time you have already paid for.
  • PocketGuard's Google Play listing (developer PocketGuard, Inc.) offers in-app purchases and sells PocketGuard Plus with a 7-day free trial, then $12.99/month or $74.99/year, so an Android purchase made there is billed by Google.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

There's no Customer Portal button in your PocketGuard settings.

The portal only manages subscriptions that PocketGuard bills directly. If you subscribed as an in-app purchase, the subscription lives in Apple's Settings > Subscriptions list or Google Play's Subscriptions list instead.

You cancelled but were still charged for the next period.

PocketGuard's cutoff is 24 hours before the end of the current period. A cancellation inside that window lands after the renewal has already been queued. Check the store or portal for the date the subscription actually ends.

You can't tell where the charge is coming from.

Check Apple's Settings > Subscriptions and Google Play's Subscriptions list first — an in-app purchase never appears in PocketGuard's Customer Portal. PocketGuard's help centre lists support@pocketguard.com for questions about Plus.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • The subscription stops auto-renewing, provided the cancellation lands at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Verify it stuck by reopening the Customer Portal — or, for an in-app purchase, the store's subscription list — and confirming no future renewal date is shown.
  • PocketGuard does not document a refund for the portion of the term you have already paid for.

Refund notes

  • PocketGuard's cancellation article documents no refund for the period you have already paid for — it only documents the 24-hour cutoff for stopping the next renewal. A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment rather than a subscription, so there is nothing to auto-renew.

FAQ

How do I cancel PocketGuard Plus from the web app?

Go to the Settings tab of the PocketGuard web app, click the Customer Portal button, then click Cancel plan and follow the prompts. PocketGuard added this portal so members can change a payment method or cancel without contacting support.

How do I cancel PocketGuard Plus on my iPhone?

If you subscribed inside PocketGuard's mobile app, open the sidebar, scroll down and tap Billing, then choose Modify subscription. If the purchase went through the App Store, cancel it in Apple's own list instead: Settings app > your name > Subscriptions > PocketGuard > Cancel Subscription.

When do I have to cancel PocketGuard to avoid the next charge?

At least 24 hours before the end of the current period. PocketGuard states that all of its subscriptions are auto-renewable and will renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

Does deleting the PocketGuard app cancel PocketGuard Plus?

No. PocketGuard says subscriptions renew automatically unless they are cancelled, so removing the app does not stop billing. Cancel through the web app's Customer Portal, the app's Billing screen, or — if you bought it as an in-app purchase — through Apple's or Google Play's subscription settings.

How much does PocketGuard Plus cost before I cancel?

PocketGuard's pricing page lists PocketGuard Plus at $74.99 yearly ($6.25/month billed annually), $12.99 per month billed monthly, or $149.99 for a one-time lifetime purchase, with a 7-day free trial. Check the page for current pricing, as plans change.
