How to cancel Outschool

Outschool memberships cancel online. Sign in, open Transactions, choose Manage Plan, then Cancel Plan, and pick Continue to Cancel rather than the pause offer. Credits stay usable through the end of the billing cycle. Important: canceling the membership does not stop recurring weekly class charges — stop or withdraw each of those enrollments separately from the Learner Schedule.

yes
Where to start
Outschool website — sign in, then parent dashboard → Transactions (outschool.com/transactions)

Not commonly documented
Keeps access until
End of the current billing cycle — Outschool documents that remaining credits can be used until the current billing cycle ends, and existing class enrollments continue after cancellation.
Contract / fees
No minimum term or contract is documented. Outschool describes the membership as a monthly plan that renews each month by charging the payment method on file, and states it can be canceled at any time. Cancellation must be made before a charge to prevent that renewal. Memberships are documented as available for purchase in U.S. Dollars only.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

Cancel the Outschool membership on the web

  1. 1

Sign in to your parent account at outschool.com in a browser

  2. 2

Open the Transactions page from the parent dashboard (outschool.com/transactions)

  3. 3

Click "Manage Plan" — Outschool's older membership terms describe a control labeled "Update plan" that hands off to its payment processor, so do not be thrown if you land on a processor page instead

  4. 4

    Select "Cancel Plan"

  5. 5

When offered "Pause Plan" or "Continue to Cancel", choose "Continue to Cancel" to end the membership rather than pause it

  6. 6

Finish the flow and confirm the plan no longer shows as renewing; keep any confirmation you receive

  7. 7

Spend or plan around any remaining credits before the current billing cycle ends

Stop recurring weekly class charges (separate from the membership)

  1. 1

Note that Outschool documents that canceling the membership does not stop recurring weekly class enrollments or their charges

  2. 2

Open the Learner Schedule page (outschool.com/learn/schedule) — Outschool documents this as where you may stop or withdraw from a recurring weekly class at any time. (The Transactions page at outschool.com/account/transactions is documented for resuming a stopped weekly enrollment, not for stopping one.)

  3. 3

Stop or withdraw from each recurring weekly enrollment individually

  4. 4

Choose deliberately: Outschool states that stopping keeps the learner's access to available classroom content from the weeks they were enrolled, while withdrawing removes the learner from the classroom, including access to past classroom content

  5. 5

For a full refund of a weekly charge, stop within 24 hours of that charge (including the initial sign-up charge) — but Outschool states that full refund eligibility ends once the first class meeting begins, so act before whichever comes first. After that, stopping ends future charges but does not refund the most recent payment

  6. 6

Repeat for every recurring weekly class so no weekly enrollment keeps billing

Pause instead of canceling (up to 12 weeks)

  1. 1

Open the Transactions page at outschool.com/transactions

  2. 2

    Select "Manage Plan"

  3. 3

Choose "Pause plan" and select your preferred resume date

  4. 4

Note the documented limits: a pause lasts up to 12 weeks, the pause begins at the end of your current billing cycle, and the plan must resume and renew for one cycle before it can be paused again

  5. 5

If you decide not to return, cancel before the pause resume date so the plan does not renew

Expect a retention offer

  • Selecting "Cancel Plan" leads to a screen that offers "Pause Plan" alongside "Continue to Cancel", putting a pause option in front of the cancellation
  • Pausing for up to 12 weeks is promoted throughout the help pages as the alternative to canceling
  • Help pages emphasize that remaining credits can still be spent before the billing cycle ends, encouraging members to stay through the cycle

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • The membership does not renew and future membership charges stop
  • Remaining credits stay usable through the end of the current billing cycle; Outschool recommends spending them before it ends
  • Existing class enrollments are not canceled — the learner continues attending all remaining sessions, including classes spanning multiple weeks
  • Recurring weekly class enrollments keep charging until each one is stopped or withdrawn separately from the Learner Schedule, and a full refund on one of those charges is only documented within 24 hours of the charge and before the first class meeting begins
  • Renewal charges and plan upgrades are documented as non-refundable, and canceling after a membership period begins does not refund the most recent payment
  • If you rejoin later, the 24-hour first-purchase refund policy no longer applies

Refund notes

  • Outschool documents a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of your first month's purchase and have not used credits to enroll, plus a 14-Day Risk-Free Trial on an initial membership subject to eligibility criteria. Renewal charges and plan upgrades are documented as non-refundable, and its membership terms state that canceling after a membership period begins does not refund the most recent payment. The 24-hour policy no longer applies if you cancel and later reactivate. For recurring weekly classes, stopping within 24 hours of a charge (including the initial sign-up charge) is documented as refundable, but Outschool states that full refund eligibility for those enrollments ends once the first class meeting begins — so the window can close before the 24 hours are up. Check current pricing and terms before canceling.

FAQ

Does canceling my Outschool membership also stop my recurring weekly class charges?

No. Outschool's support documentation states that canceling a membership does not cancel recurring weekly class enrollments or stop those weekly charges. You have to stop or withdraw from each recurring weekly enrollment individually from the Learner Schedule page, which Outschool documents as the place you may stop or withdraw from the class at any time.

What happens to my unused Outschool credits when I cancel?

Outschool documents that your family can use any remaining credits until the end of your current billing cycle, and it recommends spending them before that cycle ends. Its membership terms add that access to unused credits ends at the close of the current membership period unless Outschool states otherwise in writing.

Can I pause my Outschool membership instead of canceling it?

Yes. From the Transactions page, select Manage Plan, then Pause Plan, and choose a resume date. Outschool documents pauses of up to 12 weeks, says the pause begins at the end of your current billing cycle, and says the plan must resume and renew for one cycle before it can be paused again. Pausing stops new credits from being issued while keeping your existing balance.

Is there a refund if I cancel Outschool shortly after signing up?

Outschool documents a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of your first month's purchase and have not used credits to enroll, plus a 14-Day Risk-Free Trial on an initial membership subject to eligibility criteria. It also states the 24-hour policy no longer applies if you cancel and later reactivate. Recurring weekly classes follow a separate rule: refund eligibility there ends once the first class meeting begins, even inside 24 hours.

Will my child lose access to classes already booked if I cancel Outschool?

No. Outschool states that canceling a membership does not cancel existing class enrollments. The learner continues attending all remaining sessions of an enrolled class, including a class that spans multiple weeks.
