How to cancel iHeartRadio Plus

iHeartRadio Plus is month-to-month with no contract. iHeart says Plus is available only in its iOS and Android apps, so check which store billed you. Cancel through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or Roku if that is the biller; web sign-ups cancel at iHeart.com/my/settings. The web path is nested under Subscription, then Change Plan. Access runs to the term's end; no partial refunds.

Menus and labels can change. If the steps below don’t match what you see, use the official help link on this page.

Fast answer

Where to start with iHeartRadio Plus

Open official help
Can you cancel online?
yes
Where to start
Work out which store is billing you first. iHeart states in several help articles, including its current plans page, that iHeartRadio Plus is only available in the iOS and Android apps, while its pricing pages also list web sign-up — so do not assume the web path applies. If Apple, Google Play, the Amazon App Store, or Roku charged you, start in that store's subscription manager. If you subscribed directly on iHeart.com, start at https://www.iheart.com/my/settings.
Apple or Google billed?
Possible
Keeps access until
The end of the current billing cycle, or the end of the free trial if you are still in it. iHeart's subscription terms (https://www.iheart.com/content/subscription-terms/) state that cancellation is effective the day after the end of your current subscription term.
Contract / fees
No contract, minimum term, or early-termination fee. iHeart's help centre (https://help.iheart.com/hc/en-us/articles/235649528-How-long-is-my-billing-cycle, last updated 2018-12-04) states the billing cycle for iHeartRadio Plus and All Access is one month, and that the free trial "lasts exactly 30 days." iHeart's subscription terms (https://www.iheart.com/content/subscription-terms/) state the plan renews unless you cancel before the end of the current subscription term, and that a rate change is preceded by advance notice with the option to cancel before the new rate takes effect. Note on channel: iHeart's own pages conflict — several help articles, including its current plans page, say Plus is only available in the iOS and Android apps, while its pricing pages also list web sign-up. Confirm which store charged you before choosing a cancellation path. The four cancellation articles cited here were last updated by iHeart in late October 2020, and the billing-cycle article in December 2018; the steps are what iHeart documents today, not steps the merchant has recently re-verified.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

Cancel on the web (subscribed directly on iHeart.com)

  1. 1

Note first: iHeart states in several help articles that iHeartRadio Plus is only available in the iOS and Android apps, so many Plus subscribers are billed by Apple or Google and must cancel in that store instead — check which store charged you before using this path.

  2. 2

Visit iHeart.com on your desktop or mobile browser.

  3. 3

Log into the account associated with your iHeartRadio Plus subscription — click the icon of a face in the upper right corner on desktop, or the three horizontal lines in the left corner of the screen on mobile.

  4. 4

Go to iHeart.com/my/settings (this redirects to account.iheart.com/login if you are signed out).

  5. 5

Under Subscription, select Change Plan. (iHeart's iHeart.com-specific article labels this section "Subscriptions".)

  6. 6

Select Cancel Subscription from the menu that appears.

  7. 7

Select Cancel Plan to confirm your cancellation. (This button name comes from iHeart's "How do I cancel my subscription?" article; the iHeart.com-specific article says only that you will be asked to confirm.)

  8. 8

A confirmation message appears indicating when your subscription will expire.

Cancel through Apple (subscribed via the iOS App Store or iTunes)

  1. 1

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.

  2. 2

Tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. If you don't see "Subscriptions," tap "iTunes & App Store" instead, then tap your Apple ID, tap View Apple ID, sign in, scroll down to Subscriptions, and tap Subscriptions.

  3. 3

    Tap iHeartRadio.

  4. 4

    Tap Cancel Subscription.

  5. 5

On a Mac or PC instead: open the App Store app, click the sign-in button or your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click View Information at the top of the window (you might be asked to sign in), scroll until you see Subscriptions and click Manage, click Edit next to iHeartRadio, then click Cancel Subscription.

  6. 6

If you don't see Cancel Subscription, then the subscription is already cancelled and won't renew.

Cancel through Google Play (subscribed on Android)

  1. 1

Launch the Google Play Store app, signed in to the Google Play account used to sign up for the subscription.

  2. 2

Open the menu and select Subscriptions.

  3. 3

Tap iHeartRadio, then select Cancel Subscription.

  4. 4

On a computer instead: go to play.google.com/store/account, find iHeartRadio under Subscriptions, click View, then select Cancel.

Cancel through the Amazon App Store (Fire or Kindle sign-up)

  1. 1

Launch the Amazon App Store app on your Kindle or Amazon Fire device, signed in to the Amazon account used to sign up.

  2. 2

Tap the Menu button in the upper left hand corner and select Subscriptions.

  3. 3

    Next to iHeartRadio, tap Manage.

  4. 4

Un-check the box next to Auto-renew this subscription.

  5. 5

    Tap Save.

Cancel through Roku (subscribed on a Roku device)

  1. 1

Press the Home button on your Roku remote.

  2. 2

Use the directional pad (the plus-shaped pad in the centre of the remote) to navigate the channel grid and highlight the partner subscription channel, or The Roku Channel — iHeart's article does not name a specific iHeartRadio channel here.

  3. 3

Press the Star button on your remote to open the options menu for that channel.

  4. 4

If it is a partner subscription channel: select Manage subscription to view the renewal date and access additional options. If it is The Roku Channel: select Manage subscriptions to see all Premium Subscriptions, then select the individual partner subscription.

  5. 5

To unsubscribe, select Cancel subscription. A message appears telling you how long you can continue to access the content and services.

  6. 6

Confirm by selecting Cancel subscription. A new message confirms the cancellation and reminds you of the date you will no longer have access.

  7. 7

    Select Done.

  8. 8

On a computer instead: go to my.roku.com, sign in if prompted, click or tap Manage your subscriptions, choose the desired subscription, select Unsubscribe, and confirm the decision when prompted.

Expect a retention offer

  • Cancellation is not a top-level control: the documented web path routes you through Subscription, then Change Plan, before Cancel Subscription appears in a submenu.
  • The Change Plan menu surfaces a plan switch (for example, All Access down to iHeartRadio Plus) alongside the cancel option, presenting a downgrade as an alternative to leaving.
  • A separate confirmation step is required after choosing Cancel Subscription, where you must select Cancel Plan.
  • The account-deletion help page nudges users toward keeping the account, telling them they can cancel the premium plan and continue using the ad-supported app instead.
  • iHeart's own pages disagree on whether Plus can be bought and managed on the web, which makes it harder to work out which cancellation path applies to you.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • Billing stops at the end of the current billing cycle, or at the end of the free trial if one is still running.
  • A confirmation message shows the date the subscription will expire.
  • The subscription terms state that cancelling downgrades the account to the free-of-charge, ad-supported tier as of the end of the current term rather than closing it, so saved stations, podcasts, and playlists remain.
  • No portion of the subscription fee is returned for the unused part of the term.
  • Deleting the iHeart account does not cancel the subscription; iHeart's account-deletion article (https://help.iheart.com/hc/en-us/articles/4424516427021-How-to-Delete-your-iHeart-Account) says you are responsible for cancelling active subscriptions first, otherwise billing can continue.
  • Roku cancellations display the date after which access ends, and Amazon cancellations take effect by turning off auto-renew rather than ending access immediately.

Refund notes

  • No partial refunds. iHeart's subscription terms (https://www.iheart.com/content/subscription-terms/) state that if you cancel a paid subscription before the end of your subscription period, they will not, unless required by applicable law, return any portion of the subscription fee. There is no documented self-serve refund path; App Store, Google Play, Amazon, and Roku purchases are subject to those stores' own refund policies. Check current pricing before subscribing.

FAQ

Where exactly is the cancel option for iHeartRadio Plus on iHeart.com?

It is nested one level down rather than shown as a top-level button. Sign in, go to iHeart.com/my/settings, and under Subscription select Change Plan. Cancel Subscription appears in the menu that opens, and you then select Cancel Plan to confirm. That button name comes from iHeart's "How do I cancel my subscription?" article; the iHeart.com-specific article says only that you will be asked to confirm. A message then shows the date your subscription will expire.

Does deleting my iHeart account also cancel my iHeartRadio Plus subscription?

No. iHeart's account-deletion article (https://help.iheart.com/hc/en-us/articles/4424516427021-How-to-Delete-your-iHeart-Account) states you are responsible for cancelling any active subscriptions and that deleting your account will not cancel your subscription. Cancel the plan first, confirm it, and only then delete the account if you still want to. Otherwise billing can continue after the account is gone.

If I cancel iHeartRadio Plus partway through the month, do I get money back?

No. iHeart's subscription terms (https://www.iheart.com/content/subscription-terms/) state that if you cancel before the end of your subscription period, they will not, unless required by applicable law, return any portion of your subscription fee. You keep Plus features until the term ends, and the terms say the account is then downgraded to the free-of-charge tier rather than closing.

I cannot find a Cancel Subscription option in my iHeartRadio Plus settings — why?

Because a different store is probably billing you. iHeart states in several help articles, including its current plans page, that iHeartRadio Plus is only available in the iOS and Android apps, and its help centre says to follow the procedure for the device you were logged into when you subscribed. If you signed up through the iOS App Store, Google Play, the Amazon App Store, or Roku, that store is the biller and the iHeart.com settings page will not cancel it.

Can I move from iHeartRadio All Access down to iHeartRadio Plus instead of cancelling entirely?

Yes. Per iHeart's switching article (https://help.iheart.com/hc/en-us/articles/235793747-How-do-I-switch-from-iHeartRadio-All-Access-to-iHeartRadio-Plus), on the web you go to iHeart.com/my/settings, select Change Plan under Subscription, then choose Switch to iHeartRadio Plus and confirm your billing information. Through Apple you edit the subscription and switch tiers, effective at the end of the current billing cycle. Through Google Play, iHeart directs you to cancel and resubscribe to Plus once the cycle ends. The same article notes Plus is only available in the iOS and Android versions of the app.
