How to cancel Book of the Month

Book of the Month is cancelled on the web: log in at bookofthemonth.com and open the cancel link from the Help Center, or go to bookofthemonth.com/cancel. Do it before your assigned renewal date, which falls between the 22nd and 30th. Unredeemed Book Credits stay usable for a 60-day grace period.

You skipped a month but were still charged.

Book of the Month's terms note that if you purchase an audiobook after electing to skip the month, you will still be automatically renewed on your assigned renewal date. Check whether an audiobook purchase re-activated the renewal.

The cancel link will not let you finish because of a commitment.

If your enrollment offer included a commitment to renew at the prevailing renewal price, Book of the Month says you cannot cancel until that commitment is fulfilled. After it is fulfilled you can cancel at any time; the Help Center request form under 'Subscription Management' is the documented way to ask where you stand.

You cancelled but still have unused Book Credits.

Use them inside the 60-day Grace Period following the end of your membership term — Book of the Month forfeits unredeemed credits after that, and they are never refunded as cash. Note that credits also expire 12 months from the date of issuance while you are still a member.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

Member benefits — the discussion board, member reviews, early releases, contests and the loyalty program — end when the term of your membership ends.

If you cancel and later rejoin, Book of the Month says your Relationship Status loyalty progress resets from the beginning.

Refund notes

Book Credits have no cash value and are non-refundable, and Book of the Month says you have no vested property right or interest in them.
Monthly memberships: if you have shipped either 0 or 1 boxes, you may request a refund for unused membership fees charged within the 90 days prior to the date you contact customer service. After 2 or more shipped boxes, no refunds are offered.
Annual memberships: if you have shipped either 0 or 1 boxes, the equivalent window is 30 days prior to the date you contact customer service. After 2 or more shipped boxes, no refunds are offered.
