How to cancel Bitwarden

To cancel Bitwarden Premium, open the web app, go to Settings then Subscription, note the Next charge date, and select Cancel subscription. Your account sits in Pending cancellation until that date, then moves to a free account. Organizations cancel under Admin Console > Billing > Subscription. Subscriptions under 30 days old can be refunded.

You can't find a Cancel subscription button.

A personal Premium subscription is cancelled under Settings > Subscription in the web app; an organization (Families, Teams, Enterprise) is cancelled under Admin Console > Billing > Subscription. They are separate screens.

You cancelled but still have Premium features.

That is expected. Bitwarden holds the account in Pending cancellation until the Next charge date, and only moves you to a free account when that date is reached.

You cancelled by mistake.

Bitwarden says you can Reinstate Subscription with a single button as long as you act before the end of the billing cycle — look on the same Settings > Subscription screen.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

The account enters Pending cancellation and stays on the paid plan until the Next charge date shown in Settings > Subscription.
On that date, Bitwarden moves the account to a free account, which keeps unlimited storage of logins, notes, cards, and identities and access on any device.
Premium-only capabilities — advanced 2FA options, the Bitwarden authenticator (TOTP), encrypted file attachments, emergency access, and vault health reports — are no longer part of the plan.
Before the billing cycle ends you can undo the whole thing with the Reinstate Subscription button.

Refund notes

Bitwarden says that if your subscription is less than 30 days old you can contact them to receive a refund. Outside that window its article documents no refund — cancelling simply stops the renewal and you keep Premium until the Next charge date.
