How to cancel Fitbit Premium

Fitbit Premium is now Google Health Premium, and cancelling depends on who billed you. Google Store purchases cancel at store.google.com/subscriptions in four clicks. The in-app Cancel membership button only forwards you to Apple's or Google Play's subscription page. Access runs to the end of the paid period, with no refund for that period.

Can you cancel online?
yes
Where to start
Start with whoever charged you. If you bought direct from Google, go to store.google.com/subscriptions. If you subscribed inside the app on a phone, the cancellation actually happens in your phone's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), not in the app itself.
Apple or Google billed?
Possible
Keeps access until
The end of the current billing period. Google's cancellation policy states you can keep using the membership until that period ends.
Contract / fees
No fixed term or early-termination fee is documented — it is a rolling monthly or annual membership. The one wrinkle is naming: as of May 19, 2026 Google renamed Fitbit Premium to Google Health Premium and the Fitbit app became the Google Health app, so older billing records and app-store subscription lists may still show the entry under "Fitbit Premium." Check both names before concluding you have no active subscription.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

Cancel a membership bought direct from the Google Store

  1. 1

Go to store.google.com/subscriptions and sign in with the Google Account that was used to buy the membership.

  2. 2

Select Google Health Premium (it may still be listed as Fitbit Premium on older accounts).

  3. 3

Under "Payment method", click Cancel subscription.

  4. 4

Click Confirm to complete the cancellation.

Start from the Google Health app (formerly the Fitbit app)

  1. 1

Open the Google Health app and tap your profile picture or initial in the top right.

  2. 2

Tap Google Health Settings, then Google Health Premium, then Membership benefits.

  3. 3

Tap Cancel membership at the bottom of the page.

  4. 4

The app forwards you to your phone's app store subscription management page — the cancellation is only complete once you finish it there.

Cancel an Apple-billed membership (subscribed on iPhone or iPad)

  1. 1

On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings and tap your name at the top.

  2. 2

    Tap Subscriptions.

  3. 3

Select the Google Health (or Fitbit) subscription from the list.

  4. 4

Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm when prompted.

Cancel a Google Play–billed membership

  1. 1

On your Android device, open the Google Play Store and go to your subscriptions.

  2. 2

Select the Google Health Premium (or Fitbit Premium) subscription.

  3. 3

    Tap Cancel subscription.

  4. 4

Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm.

Cancel when you paid through PayPal via the Play Store

  1. 1

Check your Google Play subscriptions list first.

  2. 2

If the membership does not appear there, Google's documentation says to cancel the subscription directly from your PayPal account instead.

  3. 3

Sign in to PayPal and cancel the automatic payment or recurring billing agreement associated with the membership.

  4. 4

If you still cannot locate it, contact support through the Google Health / Fitbit Help Center.

Expect a retention offer

  • The in-app "Cancel membership" button does not cancel anything by itself — Google's own instructions say it hands you off to your phone's app store subscription page to finish the job.
  • On the Google Store, cancelling takes a second step: after clicking "Cancel subscription" you must click "Confirm".
  • The membership was renamed from Fitbit Premium to Google Health Premium in May 2026, so the entry you are hunting for in a billing list may not be under the name you expect.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • The membership stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
  • No refund is issued for that remaining paid period.
  • After the period ends the membership expires and the app drops back to its non-paid tier.
  • If a device you own came with a Premium trial offer, Google's documentation says an offer to start that trial can appear in the app roughly 1-3 days after the cancelled subscription expires.

Refund notes

  • Google's cancellation policy states you won't get your money back for the billing period you already paid for — cancelling stops the next renewal rather than refunding the current one. Any exception would have to be requested from whichever store billed you (Google Store, Google Play, or Apple), each of which runs its own refund policy.

FAQ

Is Fitbit Premium the same thing as Google Health Premium now?

Yes. Google's help documentation states that as of May 19, 2026 Fitbit Premium was renamed Google Health Premium, and the Fitbit app became the Google Health app in the same update. It is the same membership and the same billing relationship — only the name changed. When you go hunting for the charge in an app-store subscription list or a card statement, look for both names, because older entries can still read "Fitbit Premium."

Why doesn't the "Cancel membership" button inside the app actually cancel my Fitbit Premium subscription?

Because it isn't a cancel button — it's a redirect. Google's own instructions say that tapping Cancel membership sends you to your phone's app store subscription management page. If Apple or Google Play collects your payment, only that store can stop the billing, so the app can do nothing more than hand you off. If you close the app at that point believing you're done, the membership renews as normal.

Will I get a refund for the rest of the month if I cancel Fitbit Premium mid-cycle?

No. Google's cancellation policy states plainly that you won't get your money back for the billing period you already paid for. Cancelling stops the next renewal rather than refunding the current one, and you keep access until that paid period runs out. If you think you have a case for an exception, you'd raise it with whichever store billed you — Google Store, Google Play, or Apple — each of which applies its own refund policy.

I bought Fitbit Premium through the Play Store using PayPal and it isn't in my subscriptions list — how do I cancel it?

Google's help documentation covers exactly this case: if you paid through the Play Store with PayPal but the subscription doesn't appear in your Play subscriptions, cancel it directly from your PayPal account by ending the recurring payment agreement. This is a genuinely easy one to miss, because the Play Store list looks empty and it's natural to assume nothing is billing you.

Do I lose Fitbit Premium features the moment I hit cancel?

No. Google's cancellation policy says you can keep using the membership until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and it expires after that. So cancelling early in a cycle costs you nothing in access — it simply stops the renewal. Google's documentation also notes that if your device shipped with a Premium trial offer, an offer to start it can surface in the app roughly one to three days after the cancelled subscription expires.
