How to cancel Cerebral

Cerebral's terms let you cancel yourself: log in and click Cancel Subscription in your account. You must do it no later than the day before your next scheduled billing date, or you are charged for another period. Access and all telehealth services run to the end of that period. Fees are non-refundable, and Cerebral advises talking to your provider before stopping medication.

Telehealth-specific: Cerebral's terms state that all services, including telehealth services, end once cancellation takes effect, and advise you to talk to your provider before discontinuing any medication because abruptly stopping certain medications can affect your health. If you are mid-treatment, arrange continuing care or a prescription transfer before your paid period runs out. The terms also note that Cerebral providers no longer prescribe controlled medications. Billing may not fall on the same calendar date each month, so confirm your actual next billing date rather than assuming.

Step-by-step cancellation

These steps only appear when the flow was verified against an official provider or platform source.

Cancel in your Cerebral account (self-serve)

  1. 1

Find your next scheduled billing date first — Cerebral's terms warn that billing may not occur on the exact same date each month.

  2. 2

Log in to your Cerebral account at cerebral.com.

  3. 3

    Open your account's subscription/billing settings.

  4. 4

Choose 'Cancel Subscription'. Cerebral's terms describe this as the cancellation method and point to its FAQs for step-by-step instructions.

  5. 5

Complete the cancellation no later than the day before your next scheduled billing date — the terms state that if you do not cancel before this time you will be charged for the next subscription period.

  6. 6

Confirm and save the confirmation. Cancellation becomes effective at the end of your current subscription period.

If you cannot complete the in-account cancellation

  1. 1

Log in to your account and open the Support section, or message your care team — Cerebral's FAQ page directs clients to do this for assistance.

  2. 2

Alternatively, contact Cerebral support at support@cerebral.com, the support address listed in its terms.

  3. 3

State clearly that you are cancelling, and do it before the day-before-billing deadline so a processing delay does not push you past a renewal.

  4. 4

Ask for written confirmation of the effective cancellation date and that no further subscription charges will be made.

  5. 5

Under a 2023 New York Attorney General settlement, Cerebral agreed to no more than one retention attempt once you have indicated intent to cancel.

Before your access ends (telehealth wind-down)

  1. 1

Message your provider before the end of your paid period — all telehealth services end when cancellation takes effect.

  2. 2

Ask about continuing any active medication, since Cerebral's terms warn that abruptly stopping certain medications can impact your health.

  3. 3

Request records or a prescription transfer to a new prescriber while you still have account access.

  4. 4

Download or save any care documentation you want to keep before the subscription period ends.

Expect a retention offer

  • Under a 2023 New York Attorney General settlement, Cerebral agreed not to make more than one attempt to retain a subscriber once they have indicated intent to cancel.
  • The same settlement addressed an earlier flow in which subscribers had to complete a multi-question survey before a cancellation request was processed; Cerebral agreed to implement a click-to-cancel process.
  • That settlement also targeted processing delays of up to 72 hours or more that could push a cancellation past a billing date; expect to save written confirmation of your cancellation date.

Common problems

Only official-source troubleshooting notes are included here.

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • Auto-renewal stops — Cerebral's terms say subscriptions otherwise renew automatically for a further subscription period.
  • Cancellation becomes effective at the end of your current subscription period, not immediately.
  • Access continues until the end of that period and then ends, including for both people on a Couples Therapy option.
  • All services, including telehealth visits, end once cancellation takes effect.
  • Cerebral's terms advise speaking with your provider before discontinuing any medication.

Refund notes

  • Cerebral's terms state that all purchases are final and fees, including subscription fees, are non-refundable regardless of whether the services were used, except as prohibited by applicable law. The terms note one exception: if the Cerebral Medical Groups cancel a subscription, the current period's fee is refunded as required by law.

FAQ

Can I cancel Cerebral without emailing or calling anyone?

Yes. Cerebral's terms document a self-serve route: click 'Cancel Subscription' inside your logged-in account. A 2023 New York Attorney General settlement required Cerebral to move to a click-to-cancel process rather than email-only cancellation. If you cannot locate the control, the FAQ page tells clients to log in and use Support or message their care team.

What is Cerebral's deadline for cancelling before the next charge?

Cerebral's terms require you to cancel no later than the day before your next scheduled billing date. Miss that and you are charged for the next subscription period. The terms also warn that billing may not occur on the exact same date each month, so check your account for the real next billing date instead of assuming it matches your signup day.

Does cancelling Cerebral cut off my therapy or prescription right away?

No. Cerebral's terms say access continues to the end of your current subscription period and then ends, and that all services including telehealth services end once cancellation takes effect. The terms advise talking to your provider before discontinuing any medication, since abruptly stopping certain medications can affect your health. Line up continuing care before your period runs out.

Will Cerebral refund the period I already paid for?

Cerebral's terms state all purchases are final and subscription fees are non-refundable regardless of whether the services were used, except as prohibited by applicable law. There is no documented mid-cycle refund. Because access runs to the end of the paid period, cancelling early in a cycle does not shorten billing — it stops the next renewal.

Do I cancel Cerebral through Apple or Google if I signed up in the app?

Cerebral's iOS and Android apps are free companion apps to a membership Cerebral bills directly, and neither store listing documents in-app subscription purchases. Cerebral's terms describe cancellation inside your user account, not through a store. Check your billing receipt to confirm who charged you, then cancel in your Cerebral account.
