How to cancel BetterHelp

If you signed up on BetterHelp's website, sign in and go to Menu, then My Account, Payment Settings, and Cancel Membership; you'll get a confirmation email and keep access until the paid period ends. If you were billed through Apple or Google, cancel in that store's subscription settings instead. Refunds are handled case by case through support.

Cancel on the BetterHelp website

What happens after you cancel?

Post-cancellation details like access, downgrade behavior, and refund caveats are shown only when the provider documents them.

  • You keep access to your therapist until the end of the current paid billing period, then the membership stops.
  • BetterHelp sends a cancellation confirmation email once the request goes through.
  • Because billing is prepaid, the current period is not prorated or refunded on its own.
  • If you also want your data removed, go to Menu > My Account > Personal Information and choose Request Erasure.
