Gravity vs Truebill (2026): Truebill Is Rocket Money Now

There is no Truebill to compare against any more. Rocket Companies bought Truebill in December 2021 and renamed it Rocket Money in 2022, and the app has been sold, priced and updated under that name ever since. So this page does two things: it tells you what happened to the name, and it compares Gravity against the product Truebill actually became, with figures re-checked on 28 August 2026.

Status check, 28 August 2026: Truebill no longer exists as a name. Rocket Companies acquired it in December 2021 and rebranded it to Rocket Money in 2022; nothing was shut down, and the product carried straight over. Everything in the table refers to Rocket Money as it stands today: a free plan for tracking, a Premium membership priced on a sliding scale you set yourself after a 7-day free trial, a Cancellation Assistant included with Premium, and bill negotiation charged at 35 to 60 percent of the first year's savings only when it works. Frequently asked questions

Is Truebill the same app as Rocket Money?

Yes, it is the same product under a new name. Rocket Companies acquired Truebill in December 2021 and rebranded it as Rocket Money in 2022. The model did not change: it still links bank and card accounts to surface recurring charges, still sells a Premium membership priced on a sliding scale you choose, and still offers a cancellation service to Premium members. The live, re-verified comparison is at /compare/gravity-vs-rocket-money.

When did Truebill become Rocket Money?

The name changed in 2022, roughly eight months after Rocket Companies acquired Truebill in December 2021. Search interest in the old name never fully went away, which is why this page exists, but every current price, feature and policy is published under the Rocket Money name. If you are comparing options today, compare against Rocket Money's 2026 pricing rather than anything written about Truebill before the rebrand.

Is there still a Truebill app to compare Gravity against?

Not under that name. The rebrand renamed the product rather than retiring it, so the app you would have installed as Truebill is listed as Rocket Money from the same company. Any site or listing still presenting itself as Truebill in 2026 is out of date, and its prices almost certainly are too. Our write-up of the app under its old name is at /blog/truebill-review.

Why doesn't Gravity contact companies on my behalf like Rocket Money does?

Because it links no accounts and acts as no one's agent. Rocket Money Premium can send a cancellation request to a merchant because you gave it access to the account the charge sits on. Gravity does not cancel anything for you. It keeps the list, warns you before the renewal, and shows the current steps for that provider so you make the request yourself. That is a genuine limitation if you want the work taken off your hands, and it is the direct cost of an app that never asks for a bank or card login.

Which app should I pick if my only goal is ending subscriptions?

If you want someone else doing the work and you accept linking accounts, Rocket Money Premium is the honest answer: it surfaces the charge and its Cancellation Assistant contacts the merchant, typically within 2 to 10 business days. If you want your accounts left alone, Gravity gives you checked steps per provider plus reminders before each renewal, and you make the cancellation. The option that costs nothing at all: open Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions and end whatever Apple bills directly.

Is there a Truebill alternative that doesn't link to my accounts?

Yes, at the cost of automation. Manual trackers never touch a financial account, you enter each subscription and the app reminds you. Bobby is free to download with one-time unlocks, and Subtrack is a one-time purchase across Apple devices. Gravity is the paid iPhone option that adds step-by-step cancellation instructions per service. What none of them can do is the thing Truebill was built for, surfacing a charge you had forgotten about. A longer list is at /alternatives/truebill-alternatives.
